Following all the steps to the letter, treatment for strep throat is easy

-Tonsils

If you get the above symptoms occurring one by one or concurrently, then there is no doubt that you have got to seek treatment for strep throat. When it is detected, treatment or strep throat should be administered immediately; but remember, you do not know what ails you until the doctor has taken a swab at your inflamed throat to form a strep culture and determine whether you need treatment for the same. There is a very thin line between strep throat, tonsils and fungal infections and if you just take medication without a lab test, you may aggravate your situation more by taking a treatment meant for another infection all together.

After you test positive for strep throat, then the next step is to administer treatment. This will in most cases involve the taking of oral antibiotics for a ten day period. It might be hard, but it is important that one finishes the dosage. If you take the dose halfway, it will only cause the bacteria to become more hardy to antibiotics and so next time you get an attack of strep throat, you are liable to suffer more because then, antibiotics will not achieve anything because the bacteria will have increased their resistance against antibiotics.

At home, gurgle your throat and mouth with warm salty water and then take throat lozenges. Theses are almost like sweets but they help in relieving sore throat and the delicate inflamed muscles of the throat. While at home, do make sure that you take a lot of fluids to prevent dehydration. To relieve the pain, take non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that will help to fight the pain with no side effects at all. While under home treatment, make sure that you rest a lot to avoiding spending your energy because you need to retain it until you can start eating well. Full recovery could occur anywhere between two days and one week. It should be accompanied by rest and eating a well balanced diet that is rich in vitamins and minerals to boost the immunity of the body.
